5 PM - Finissage: Reading, panel discussion & fundraiser

Of the more than 40 works on display during the Spedition 2.0 exhibition, close to half of them were packed in the central scaffolding. In a performance, the artists unpacked the previously hidden works in front of the visitors and exchanged them live with the hanging exhibits. Visitors were invited to observe this demystification of the exhibition construction and experience live this rather veiled part of the artist's profession.

The finissage began with a reading by Annika Grabold and Aslı Özdemir. Their texts, like the works on display, are strongly influenced by the past two years.

Aslı read from her diary of abstinence, titled "vielleicht ist das kein tagebuch." ("maybe this is not a diary."), which was initially meant to help the artist quit smoking. However, it gradually evolved into an introspective exploration of the self and the surrounding environment. The text fragments do not follow a linear narrative but rather offer a lyrical mix of the subjective impressions of the narrative voice.

Annika read a specially transcribed text based on numerous interviews she conducted with artists in her environment as part of her work "ich seh' kein Außen". These interviews provide very personal insights into the artists' thoughts and experiences, but are anonymized through the transcription process.

Afterwards, the reading was opened to a panel discussion. Visitors were cordially invited to participate actively in the conversation and to talk with the artists about their approach, working methods and the content of the works. The artists (Annika Grabold, Aslı Özdemir, Tatiana Vdovenko) talked about influences from people around them, collaborations with a wide variety of other artists, and challenges on financial and personal levels. The conversation was moderated by Verdiana Albano.

fundraising campaign

Throughout the exhibition there was a fundraising campaign for aid organizations that support people in Ukraine. For this, one work per artist was offered for sale in an exclusive SPEDITION 2.0-edition (5+2AP).

90% of the proceeds were donated to Mission Lifeline; 10% are going to support the organisation of the upcoming SPEDITION 3.0.

We have sold a total of 22 prints and so a total of €1.200,- was donated to Mission Lifeline!

Many thanks to all supporters & donating artists!
